Based in Paris, VAILLANT is a french luxury women's ready-to-wear brand founded by Alice Vaillant.

The brand offers a hybrid and empowered wardrobe, and strives to embody a strong, sensual and disruptive vision of femininity.

THE AESTHETIC

Being part of the Paris Opera Ballet for ten years, classical dance has shaped a large part of Alice’s aesthetic sense that revolves around performance and movement. Her designs are immersed in this language, but also simultaneously break free from these classic ballet codes.

The collections are focused on rigidity, on one hand, but at the same time deconstruct this rigidity on the other. They explore movement and contemporary form for a fundamental play with opposites: the feminine and the masculine, motion and constraint, openness and rigor, free-flow and direction.

Alice works with the layering of materials, mixing technical pieces and free flowing styles. She displays geometrical and architectural silhouettes that are contrasted with fluid fabrics and materials. She works with contrast in either color, shape, or cut. Alice’s creations are easily recognizable by her use of lace, which is an integral part of the brand’s DNA and also serves as a strong and essential visual code for VAILLANT.

 

 

 

 

 

THE DESIGNER

Born in Paris, Alice Vaillant is a womenswear designer. At a young age, Alice joined the Paris Opera Ballet School for over 10 years and was also in a sports study program for 7 years.

After moving on from dance, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design in Montreal. In 2018 she obtained her Masters of Arts in womenswear in Paris.

Before establishing Vaillant in 2020, she joined Jean-Paul Gautier’s Couture Studio as well as Nina Ricci’s studio under the artistic direction of Rushemy Botter. She created two capsule collections for SSENSE in 2022.

In 2023 Alice Vaillant won the prize of the Ville de Paris and was also a finalist of the ANDAM Prize that same year.
